Alan Tootill is the author of the Roselake Novels, including the Martin Cole Novels, The Blackpool Novels, and two volumes charting the attempts to impose fracking on the UK.

The Martin Cole Novels are centred on the fictional Devon town of Roselake. The books blend humour and crime mystery. The recently-puiblished Beggars Way is a hilariuous expose of English provincial small town life.

The mood turns to noir in Alan's Blackpool Novels, mainly featuring Blackpool P.I. Mike Grady.

Fracking The UK, a non-fictional offering, charts the history of fracking and would-be fracking in the UK. The second volume, published in December 2016, carried the story forward from 2013.

Alan is now resident in what he regards as his homeland, the Fylde. He makes annual trips to India, where he has travelled extensively over the last twenty years and now regularly attends classical music festivals. He has two grown-up children and one grandchild.

Alan's background includes technical writing, writing for magazines and press agent work, but it was with the Martin Cole series that he first turned to fiction writing.
